Family Services and Prison Preparation

One of the most important but overlooked consequences of the criminal process is the impact upon the offender’s family and loved ones. It is imperative, if at all possible, for the soon to be inmate to have candid and frank discussions with their family regarding potential length of a prison sentence, designation, security levels, transfers, visitation, prison based job opportunities, financial matters and release issues. There are innumerable rumors out there that often lead defendants and their families to make wrong decisions. Rumors about prison reform; rumors about early release; rumors about prison conditions; rumors about safety issues and rumors about anything that could relate to an inmate’s daily life. Most are false; many provide false hope. At Both Sides Prison Consultants, we specialize first in mitigating or reducing the amount of time one must do in prison and then prepare the defendant and their family for what lies ahead.

We offer assistance and education about the Federal Bureau of Prison’s Residential Drug Abuse Program that can reduce a sentence by up to 12 months. Our Prison Preparation and Coaching assistance is imperative for both the soon to be inmate and their family. From the emotional trauma associated with the arrest, detention and long-term incarceration to
the realization that a loved one may be separated for quite some time, Both Sides Prison Consultants has the ability to help ease the transition. Through professional counselors and employees on staff or associated with us, we offer individualized counseling and group counseling, and access to staff members who can fully empathize with the problems facing the alleged offender’s family and loved ones.
